| Amy's Kitchen - Pesto Pizza December 13, 2006 | Permalink | TrackBacks |
One might think that this should be filed under junk food.. but read on. Amy' Kitchen is all about alternative pizza-lifestyles.. read my previous review about not liking legacy pizza.. Harris Teeter (local grocery store) offers this product line, and if you check out Amy's website.. you'll see how they've gone above and beyond the typical 'tombstone' crap one might associate with frozen pizza. For starters they now have pizza's which are lactose-free, dairy-free, soy-free, light sodium, and all kinda healthy watcher kinda stuff. I suffer from high blood pressure, and am lactose intolreant. The Pesto Pizza has organic tomatoes and brocolli florets on it.. imagine that.. pesto pizza. It does taste as good as it sounds.. the pizzas are in the medium size offering which most people should be sticking to!.

| I've got to thank Capt Jack Sparrow for bringin pirate couture to maintstream.. I've always liked the look of skull n bones so its amusing to see a whole collection of pirate focused tees for an avg price of $13 available at Target. I do find the whole renaming of colors to be funny.. its not 'brown' its now 'wood' .. hehe.. a wood colored shirt. I ended up buying the three shirts which looked decent out of the collection. I just need to find a tattoo parlor that I can trust to tat a pirate ship across my entire abdomen now. j/k | ![]() |
| Spinach Alfreda Pizza - Papa Johns December 11, 2006 | Permalink | TrackBacks |
Its amazin how for all this time the three major pizza vendors have stuck to the basic recipes.. Logging onto Papa Johns and seeing Hawaiian BBQ Chicken, Spinach Alfredo, and a couple other cool soundin flavors. I decided to 'do it'. The Hawaiian BBQ rocks as does the Spinach Alfredo.. dont get me wrong.. the legacy flavors are great.. but Im just not a legacy totin kinda guy. I used to have a slight bias towards Dominos.. I think its cause of their crust.. but I hardly do pizza anymore that I've reset my pizza requirements and am going to start from scratch. Change it up, question and experiment is what I'm all about and that applies to my tastes when it comes to pizza too. Kudos to Papa Johns!
| Kellie Pickler's Small Town Girl December 7, 2006 | Permalink | TrackBacks |
Thanks to a coworker, I was able to listen to Kellie Pickler's new CD free online at CMT. I am an avid American Idol fan. I've watched almost every single episode since Season 1 and I once considered myself an avid country music fan. So it made good sense that I would possibly buy Kellie's CD. At first listen, I was impressed with Kellie's voice. She really sounded good. Authentically country and none of that flat, sharp, off-pitch stuff Randy complains about. So I was familiar already with the first track "Red High Heels" which I think deserves to be on the radio. I got to number 3 and thought "Things That Never Cross A Man's Mind" could really be popular on country music radio. One of those catchy, surface level songs you could laugh at. Sort of like Lonestar's Mr. Mom. But as I listened to the rest of the album, I got a little tired of the lyrics continually talking about her now well-known family history and memories of her Southern town. I should have been warned from the album's title, but this record may be a little too country for some folks. I mean, the words Wal-Mart and Nascar both are included. Trust me, I'm on no high horse, I watch Nascar every week and visit Wal-Mart weekly but the record seemed, I don't know, a little like a first record, you know? So I doubt I'll be buying the entire record. I think she'll have some hits on this one, no doubt. She does sound good and there are a couple good songs, but I am really looking forward to her next one.
| Chappelle show - Season DVD 1 / 2 December 6, 2006 | Permalink | TrackBacks |
![]() | Ok, Im apparently late to the game when it comes to watchin the chapelle shows in their full entirety on dvd.. Rad Chad and Bobbie Joe let us borrow the two seasons over Thanksgivin.. and I dug into it.. I dont bother with watchin it when its on TV due to the milion commercials they run during it you only feel like you've watched 10 minutes worth of material! I figure thats a Comedy Central issue and not Dave but regardless.. show sucks to watch on tv.. on DVD though.. IT IS HILLARIOUS!!! you actually get to watch all the skits you've missed cause of takin breaks durin them damn commercials. I think the best part is watchin others imitate Chapelle's characters.. especially when wifey does her Rick James impersonation.. 'Im Rick James B%#$h!' |

Honestly, I was scared I wasn't going to like this album. Chris made it a point to everyone that he was going to put a rock album out. And I'm not a huge fan of rock. He stayed true to his word, put out a rock album and guess what? I like it. Really like it. I know I'm probably biased, one of those that claim to like him since seeing his first American Idol tryout. But I think this is legitmately a good album. The group Slash is featured on the song What I Want and I'm sorry to say I like this song the least. Very rock and just not catchy. Chris impressively pulls out some falsetto on Breakdown, one of my favorites--yes, I have several. A lot of the lyrics were written or cowritten by Chris and are full of heartbreak, lost love and struggles in relationships. A little sappy but liking the lyrics balances the rock sound for me. It's an album where you can listen to the whole thing without having to skip anything and every once in awhile replaying a few of them. I don't think a majority of the songs will make it to the radio but I'd be surprised if he doesn't have a couple hits from this one.
