| I've always wanted to find something furniture-wise that was modular and dynamic enough to change and fit my requirements as opposed to me adapting to the furniture. I sit at a desk all day.. and therefore the last thing I want to do when I'm home is to even look at a desk. This is where a really innovative 'laptop caddy' as some might call it comes in which is officially called an Air Desk ( $149 base price).
I was very sceptical of what this laptop desk/stand could do since it's website seems to tout that it can do everything! It arrived very well wrapped and seemed to be simple.. maybe because I was looking to see the typical 20 page booklet on how to put it together which was completely not the case here. The configuration is extremely simple, a heavy disc based is provided to which you slide first down the main stand and then you simply start affixing the other accessories (i.e. laptop tray, mouse tray, drink tray, and even a custom flat panel monitor tray). I purchase pretty much all the accessories and even decided to upgrade to the 42" tall stand since I was planning on having so much to attach to it. I've gotta tell you, I've never been so comfortable while working with my computers then ever before. I can easily sink into my favorite chair, and I've got the Air Desk situated right next to it so I can simply slide the laptop tray right above my lap and I dont have to worry about heat issues or the plain weight that over time adds up and becomes irritating.. I really enjoy the Air Desk, I even appreciate the fact that they provided simple velcro wraps so that all the cables can be nicely tied to the stand and makes the setup look even more neater. It's a really great alternative to those who really arent into the whole standard desk configurations that are simply a pain to setup and come at a steep price. |
