| So I was one of the millions that saw Shrek the Third on opening weekend. We made it a family affair and it was my 2 year old's first visit to the theater--she did great by the way. Shrek realizes he doesn't want to be a king, finds out there is one more heir to the throne, Arthur, and spends the movie on a hunt for him while Fiona is back home protecting the kingdom from the bad guy, Prince Charming. They each meet some interesting characters in this movie including Merlin who helps them get back home and Disney Princesses who help Fiona. I thought Merlin was quite funny but didn't care for the version of mean step-sisters that trailed along with Fiona. And Snow White got pretty evil looking at one point. However, they did provide some pretty funny comedy. Nothing was side-splitting funny but there were funny parts and it had a pretty good storyline. I don't think it compares to the first Shrek but it is worth seeing. However, I wouldn't spend the 20 or 30 bucks for the fam to go see in the theaters. This one is a wait-for-video. |
