V8 V.Fusion Strawberry Banana
October 2, 2006 | | Comments (4) | TrackBacks

So the new V8 V.Fusion drinks show up, and I'm thinkin these look mighty like the protein/energy drinks that have been flooding the market.. apparently V8 are joinin the trend looks-wise bUT luckily taste-wise they've stayed true to their guns. I've only tried the strawberry-banana and the drink itself has a thicker consistency (prob the banana to blame? i dunno) so be warned, and it has a very strong sense of a health kick to it.. prob why it touts proudly that one serving contains a day's worth of veggies n fruits! The new V-Fusion line does have other flavors and I expect to try em all out.. so come back for their reviews soon. Don't get me wrong, I love the standard spicy V8 but thats not something my lil girl would ever drink, so this is a great family-friendly drink.

My husband and I have been regulary drinking the new V8 V-Fusion drink. I've tried all three flavors and I think strawberry-banana is the best flavor of them all. Tropical orange is probably my least favorite, leaving peach mango in second place.

Actually, one serving is not a full day's worth of fruits and vegetables. In each serving - which I believe is 8 oz. - there is one serving of fruits (1/2 cup) and one serving of vegetables (1/2 cup). The daily recommended dose of fruits is two cups, while vegetables are two and a half cups. So, in each serving, you're really only getting one-fourth the daily recommended amount of fruits, and only one-fifth the amount of vegetables. However, this is such an easy way to get those fruits and vegetables, that I can drink three glasses of this stuff a day and satisfy three servings worth of both fruits and vegetables. A lot better than eating veggies, if you ask me! :)

Stacey.. just wanted to let you know that I've now reviewed the tropical orange flavor and just decided to link to your comments here for a description on the 'health factor' since you did a great job! thank you!
