Petworth
March 6, 2007 | | TrackBacks

Years ago at our small-town spring festival we picked up a brochure for The Pet Pantry, called Petworth since 2006, and stuffed it in our little plastic bag with the rest of our soon-to-be-thrown away brochures and free pens. Little did I know that we would actually use that brochure and start a relationship with an invaluable service we use years later. Petworth is a dog and cat food delivery service. The food is top of the line and available for several different ages and stages of your cat or dog. Our local service now has a good idea when we should be out and calls me and asks me if we would like a delivery that week. If not, no pressure, they just add me to the call rotation for the next week. If they happen to forget to call (which they haven't yet), there is a reminder card near the end of the bin to remind you to call. The food is delivered and put in our bin in our garage with a free treat and the receipt in an envelope where our credit card on file was automically charged. No interaction at all is necessary to get the food, just open the top to a full dog food bin waiting the next morning. Dog food delivered and I didn't even have to lift a finger! The price is not bad at all. We get 50lbs of adult maintenance diet food for $42--a decent price compared to any local animal supply store and it's delivered for free! Check out Petworth's dealer locator to find one near you. If you're in the Charlotte, NC area, call Lake Norman Pet Pantry (704-655-9696) and tell Dennis I sent you so I get that referral bonus!

Zen Puppy - Peace
February 6, 2007 | | TrackBacks

"Sometimes a dog just needs to chill a little" - Zen Puppy.

My three dogs are crazy wild and unruly. The treats are a great size for training, so hopefully by the end of the box they'll be just a tad bit less unruly. Fingers crossed.. highly doubt it.. these dogs have had years of practice in unruliness.. they wont go willingly. They do seem to love the taste, and the cool package looks neat on my kitchen counter - if you've seen my previous reviews you'll notice how I like cool looking things so its a perk that the treats taste good - ha ha. The treats have organic ingredients so I dont feel like the lil ones will be as wide as they are long by the time Im done training them which in reality could take years. Its nice to have a product that appeals to both the dog and owner and it will continue to be a staple in the doggie cabinet. I can't wait to try the other Zen Puppy products also.

Purina One - Sensitive Systems
September 15, 2006 | | TrackBacks

For the longest time we were always getting Purina's Beneful line, which though they loved it just wasn’t friendly on their systems. If your dog has garbage disposal-like abilities and you want him/her to have something decent... go for Beneful! Unfortunately ours just couldn’t handle it.  Being as picky as they are about everything... it was great to find Purina's new Sensitive System which they can attack, reap all the benefits of a healthy meal and not have caused any irritating after-effects. Though the food smells fishy (it does have Salmon in it) it does also consist of rice, yogurt and oat meal which helps keep Bijou / Moose / Magilla's tummies in order. This is for adult dogs, and runs $19 for the 20lb bag.
