Petworth

Years ago at our small-town spring festival we picked up a brochure for The Pet Pantry, called Petworth since 2006, and stuffed it in our little plastic bag with the rest of our soon-to-be-thrown away brochures and free pens. Little did I know that we would actually use that brochure and start a relationship with an invaluable service we use years later. Petworth is a dog and cat food delivery service. The food is top of the line and available for several different ages and stages of your cat or dog. Our local service now has a good idea when we should be out and calls me and asks me if we would like a delivery that week. If not, no pressure, they just add me to the call rotation for the next week. If they happen to forget to call (which they haven't yet), there is a reminder card near the end of the bin to remind you to call. The food is delivered and put in our bin in our garage with a free treat and the receipt in an envelope where our credit card on file was automically charged. No interaction at all is necessary to get the food, just open the top to a full dog food bin waiting the next morning. Dog food delivered and I didn't even have to lift a finger! The price is not bad at all. We get 50lbs of adult maintenance diet food for $42--a decent price compared to any local animal supply store and it's delivered for free! Check out Petworth's dealer locator to find one near you. If you're in the Charlotte, NC area, call Lake Norman Pet Pantry (704-655-9696) and tell Dennis I sent you so I get that referral bonus!

DVDXpress

"If you can use an ATM you can use DVDXpress to rent the hottest new release DVDs, instantly"

I was walking around minding my own business through my Harris Teeter located at Morrocroft, which is fondly nicknamed Taj MaTeeter due to its enormous size I guess, and came across this really bright red kiosk called 'DVDXpress'. Apparently its a hi-tech DVD rental vending machine. For a $1/night you can rent from a kiosk stacked with a surprisingly decent selection of new releases. Best of all they're located at convenient places (e.g. supermarkets) so its not like yer going out of yer way to rent, therefore location wise its spot on! You can use credit cards [all of em], and even coupons; they've done a great job in making it easy to rent [Note: They naturally do NOT accept cash].. best yet you dont need a membership! I love not having a membership.. wish more business' would follow that model.. I'm not fond of all you other businesses that make my wallet/keychains all bloated with your annoying membership cards.

In terms of hi-tech, you can log onto their website and check to see a particular kiosk's inventory! So the second it gets stocked with the new release yer dying to watch you can go rent it and go grab groceries at the same time in my case.

Im impressed.. the rental prices might be a tad bit expensive.. but Im expecting this company to grow tremendously and end up merging/being acquired by Netflix or Blockbuster at some point.
